The Distance Turns to Light

Eight original trance compositions follow a city from a carrier signal at midnight to an unresolved, warmer dawn. Glass melodies, detuned leads, resonant acid and long breakdowns trace the pleasure of waiting for a melody, then hearing the same landscape from a different height.

Use art/cover.png as the cover. The original drawing program is selected as supporting context; no separate illustrated PDF sleeve exists for this record. The selection contains 44 files: eight MP3s, eight MIDI files, sixteen JSON/TSV event scores, the shared arrangement manifest, seven composition/instrument/artwork/production source files, cover, liner notes, track list and release/source guide. WAV choice: omit, including private preservation uploads. Stems and MusicXML are absent. The formant instrument is synthesized sound, not a lyric performance; there are no lyric sheets to attach. MIDI preserves notes, rhythm, tempo and section markers. The JSON/TSV event scores and original C++ Night Engine preserve the custom synthesis recipe. Score beats and bars are musical coordinates, not elapsed milliseconds; rendered events have a 40 ms entrance offset. The final mastering trim affects the tail, not the entrances. Rebuilding requires Python 3, a C++17 compiler (clang++ in the script) and FFmpeg/FFprobe. Artwork rebuilding also uses Pillow and macOS Supplemental Arial fonts; verification uses NumPy, with Node.js for the player check. Toolchain versions are not pinned, so exact mastered/encoded bytes are not promised across environments. Preserve the source/score directory layout. Download access is separate from reuse permission. No reuse license supplied. Original MP3s are available individually; the album ZIP contains canonical recordings and the selected supporting files. WAVs are omitted.
